Letitia Wright's Injury, 'Black Panther: Wakanda' Forever Delayed
The sequel to Disney's "Black Panther" film will be halted for at least a month to allow actress Letitia Wright to heal from an injury. A statement from Wright’s reps reads. “Letitia kindly asks that you keep her in your prayers.”
Letitia Wright, the Guyanese-born British actress, debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Shuri, the brilliant scientist and younger sister of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa in 2018's "Black Panther." The sequel to the best-picture nominee and three-Oscar winner “Black Panther”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" storyline is unknown, but Shuri is likely to play a major part after Boseman's death from cancer in August 2020.

According to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, production on "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" will be temporarily halted as actress Letitia Wright recovers from an on-set injury she sustained in August. Production will be halted beginning the week of Thanksgiving and will resume in early 2022.
Wright, who starred as Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, was injured during a stunt in August and will require significant time to recover. Her injury was first regarded as mild, but the nature of it has not been confirmed. Wright was hurt more than two months ago, in late August, while filming an action sequence in Boston. Her accident was not expected to affect the film's productions. Since Wright's injury, director Ryan Coogler and the rest of the crew have been filming largely in Atlanta. She stayed in London for the filming, which went on without her.
However, Letitia's recovery will take longer than
expected. As a result, the film's production will be delayed. The film
"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is set to be released on Nov. 11,
2021, however the present scenario may cause it to be postponed.
