On 2007 the Japanese Prime Minister
Shinzo Abe initiated a diplomatic and military alliance between United States,
Australia, India and Japan with the support of U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney,
Australian Prime Minister John Howard, and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan
Singh. The Quadrilateral Security Discussion (QSD), commonly known as the Quad,
is a strategic dialogue involving key Indo-Pacific states. This was largely
interpreted as a reaction to China's growing economic and military strength, as
well as escalating tensions between China and Quad members.
24/September/2021 will
witness the first in-person Quad leaders summit in New York. On Monday night,
the White House confirmed that “US President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will host the
first-ever Quad Leaders Summit at the White House on September

Hosting the leaders of the Quad demonstrates the Biden-Harris Administration’s priority of engaging in the Indo-Pacific, including through new multilateral configurations to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The Quad Leaders will be focused on deepening our ties and advancing practical cooperation on areas such as combatting COVID-19, addressing the climate crisis, partnering on emerging technologies and cyberspace, and promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific.”

Quad and AUKUS at odds?
While the quad is gathering to address a number of topics
like as climate change, Covid outbreaks, and vaccine distribution, the United
States wants to put a stop to the Quad's fears about a new alliance known as
